What is Movember?
Movember is a movement for men’s health. For 30 days in the month formerly known as November, Mo Bros and Mo Sistas rally to support the cause, get people talking and raise funds. There are two ways to participate: grow your moustache for 30 days, or take the MOVE challenge and get active each day for 30 days. Some Mo Bros do both! Together we’re tackling some of the biggest health issues faced by men – prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity.

How can you get your community involved?
Don’t Mo alone! Get your favorite restaurant or bar, your workplace, sports teams, community groups, barbershops and other local businesses to join in. Organize into teams to see who can grow the best moustache, MOVE more, or raise the most funds. We’ll lend a hand to make sure your Movember campaign is a memorable one.

Grow your moustache for 30 days. Do it for men’s health.

1. Sign up and start clean shaven on November 1st
2. Grow and groom your moustache for the 30 days of Movember
3. Raise funds and awareness for men’s health

Mo Bros, grow your moustache
A moustache is nature’s billboard. Use it to start a conversation about men’s health this Movember.

Mo Sistas, do it for a Bro you know
You don’t have to have a moustache to care about men’s health. Mo Sistas, fundraise for the men in your life.

Sign up for Movember 2015 to get started.

LETTERS ALOUD presents “FAME, they’re not gonna live forever” Tuesday, November 10, 2015 7:30 p.m. at the Mariner Theatre $25 General, $20 HCOA Member, $15 Youth (10-18. Not recommended for children under 10) Tickets available at HCOA, The Homer Bookstore, and online at HomerArt.org “It makes you reflect on the world and your own life and our personal connection to history.” –Nancy Guppy, host of Seattle Channel’s ArtZone HCOA is excited to announce our November collaboration with Hospice of Homer, which includes the main stage performance “Fame” by Letters Aloud, an intimate outreach activity, and gallery performance by Work in Progress. Letters Aloud will present the series “Fame, they’re not going to live forever” at the Mariner Theatre in Homer, AK on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at 7:30 p.m. “FAME” is a highly entertaining performance in which intimate, private letters from the famous examines the very human condition of celebrity and the lessons it teaches. Funny and poignant, with live musical accompaniment and dynamic slide show, this performance will touch your heart and lift your spirits. Homer Council on the Arts is invested in creating opportunities for members of our community to attend main stage performances and interact with the performers through outreach activities. Hospice volunteers, staff, and local high school students will be included in our outreach activity, diving a little deeper into our collaboration. This outreach will bring people from differing perspectives and experience together to share personal stories through a writing workshop guided by Letters Aloud actors. We are excited to witness how our community embraces this performance and outreach activity! On November 13 at 7:30 the local band “Work in Progress” will perform original songs about Love and Loss in the HCOA gallery. Band members include Randy and Bobby Creamer, Glen Caldwell, Mindy Lewis, and Jenny Martin. All proceeds go toward the outreach opportunity we will be offering to hospice volunteers and staff in conjunction with the Letters Aloud performance. Admission is $10 per
