Join us for a family-friendly holiday celebration Thursday, Nov. 30! The annual tree lighting will take place outside the SeaLife Center at 5:45 pm, followed by Santa’s arrival.
Door open at 6 pm for the party hosted by the Alaska SeaLife Center. There will be cookie decorating, crafts, snacks and photos with Santa.
At 6 pm and 7 pm, enjoy a joint performance by the Seward Senior Center and Port City Players. Revels ’17 offers 30 minutes of music and narrative based on the memories of Seward seniors.
Just steps away, shops in Seward’s historic downtown will be staying open until 8 pm and offering holiday specials for locals.

We’re excited to welcome all jumpers and spectators back to Seward this weekend for the 32 annual Seward Polar Bear Jump! This year’s event is on track to raise more than $55,000 for the American Cancer Society.
On Saturday, Jan. 27 at 11:30 am, a parade will lead jumpers from the American Legion (5th Ave. and Jefferson St.) along a mile-long route to the Seward Boat Harbor. The Polar Bear Jump begins at 12:30 pm.
2018 marks the 21st National Ocean Science Bowl regional competition in Alaska. The NOSB’s goal is to build awareness and knowledge of the ocean science through a competitive format. The Alaska Tsunami Ocean Sciences Bowl is the regional competition for Alaska high schools focusing upon relevant ocean topics. Participating teams present research papers and compete in an exciting buzzer-style quiz bowl. The winning team of the Alaska Tsunami Bowl will travel to Nationals to compete against other regional teams from all over the United States.
